Iron Ore

A large Western Australian Iron Ore mine processes iron ore to produce both a lump and fines product which is then delivered to the Dampier loading facility. A MoistScan® MA-500HDi was trialled on the product conveyor belt which produces their fines product. The MoistScan®      MA-500HDi was designed to provide product moisture measurement in deep bed depth & high attenuating material such as iron Ore.

An exhaustive trial program involving comparative analysis of in excess of 300 physical samples with the MA-500HDi trial unit, resulted in a decision to retain two(2) MA-500HDi units for the online moisture measurement component of the plant reconciliation plan.

The analyser was proven to have an accuracy of approximately 0.6% total moisture with a product bed depth of 350mm over a moisture range of 8.0% to 14%.
